The municipality of Ferreries reaches from the north coast of Menorca (a small stretch between Cala Pilar and Cala en Calderer beaches) to the south coast. (a stretch between Cala Galdana and Cala Trebalúger beaches with two other beaches in the middle: Cala Mitjana and Cala Mitjaneta that are connected by a great mediterranean forest totally virgin.). At the east this strip of land borders with the municipality of Es Mercadal, at the south with Es Migjorn Gran and at the west with Ciutadella de Menorca. Its extension is of 67,39 kilometres square and it rises 140 metres over the sea level.
The human potential of the population, that historically has developed the highest birth rate of the islands ( its population census is of 4.717 inhabitants).this fact has been decisive and it has contributed to the transition from a rural economy to an industrial economy.
